Schools in Action for the Riachuelo River
The project «Schools for the Riachuelo» is an artistic and educational initiative that, for more than 10 years, has sought to promote knowledge, participation, and environmental commitment in schools across the City of Buenos Aires.
Every July 8, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Environmental Action Day for the Matanza-Riachuelo Basin is commemorated—a date that invites reflection on the right to live in a healthy environment and encourages the commitment of different social sectors to the environmental recovery of one of the most important river basins in the City of Buenos Aires and its surrounding areas.
The goal of this initiative is to raise environmental awareness and strengthen the active commitment of students in addressing pollution issues. It also seeks to foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative work, encouraging reflection on the value of water as a common good and the need to protect it for present and future generations.
